Opposing Homosexuality in Righteousness

Marriage is sacred photo c/o open.salon.com

I never thought I’d be saying this, but I listen to easy listening music. I absolutely love it. It’s so peaceful. I seem to get more work done and more writing done when I indulge in it. I’m so accustomed to it that when I hear some “head banging tune” that it rattles me to the core. I feel my stomach thump with each violent beat of the bass. I feel rattled. I feel like someone is screaming at me. There is a big difference between peace and joy and anger and rebellion.  I share this with you because my soul reacts the very same way when it is exposed to other scenarios—such as being subjected to homosexual scenes on my television set, in a book I’m reading, or in a conversation I have to overhear in public.  I feel sick to my stomach. I feel truly sad for the poor choices so many individuals have made in their lives. I think I’m mostly sad because I have a wonderful marriage. I’m so blessed to enjoy an enduring love that Heavenly Father blesses and sanctions. We’re not perfect people, but we do try to live in such a way in which our home and marriage can be influenced by the Holy Spirit. If we are fighting with one another, if we are unfaithful to our covenants that we made to each other and to God, or if we are dishonest with one another, we can’t possibly expect Him to have an influence in our lives to the fullest extent.  As such, I find myself mourning the real peace and joy that those who elect to follow a homosexual lifestyle relinquish as a result of their choices. Bottom line, a homosexual lifestyle—with or without marriage involved—is not pleasing unto our Heavenly Father and it is offensive to me as well. All of this comes from my deeply rooted religious and personal beliefs.

When the television show “Flash Forward” first aired, I watched it with great enjoyment. However, when they aired an episode that promoted a lesbian relationship, I immediately stopped watching it and haven’t turned it on again. I also wrote a letter to the network informing them of my displeasure. Is it hatred in my heart that causes such a reaction? No. It is an unwillingness to allow such images into my home, my heart, and my mind. It’s an unwillingness to support the counterfeit version of happiness and marriage. It’s such an evil representation of true love and marriage that such content offends me greatly. I respond in the same way when I hear the Lord’s name taken in vain, or when I see any sexual content displayed on television or in a book.  So why am I writing about this today?  Because I was shocked to read that a man was fined over $6,600 because he refused to take photos for a gay marriage in New Mexico! http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=119282

First of all, gay marriage isn’t recognized in New Mexico. Secondly, the ceremony was offensive to the photographer’s marriage beliefs. And yet a judge, who is supposed to enforce and preserve the U.S. Constitution found the photographer guilty of “unlawful discrimination.”  This is so wrong folks.  I’m a professional preparedness consultant. Would I be fined because I refused to counsel a person how to preserve their cocaine long-term—even if it’s illegal and against my religious beliefs?  How there can even be a judge on the bench that can make such a ruling is literally frightening to me; frightening because it’s just one more indicator how far we have fallen from the best that God had to give us in the form of the U.S. Constitution. Where is the freedom from religious persecution? Where are the judges who work for We The People instead of promoting their own cultural beliefs and attempting to legislate from the bench?  In the name of true freedom, I believe firmly that as Christian Americans we cannot continue to turn a blind eye towards what’s going on around us.  Evil is real and thus our defense against evil must be every bit as real as well.  Why is evil seemingly winning the war? Because its cause has never been complacent, apathetic, or lazy.  If only we were as aware of evil as evil is aware of good!

I have two immediate family members who have chosen homosexual lifestyles.  One is even a homosexual prostitute on the strip in Las Vegas. I fear for the day when I get the call that he’s died as a result of his chosen lifestyle.  I also have another immediate family member who wholeheartedly supports such choices as well—so much so that he won’t even permit me to be his “friend” on Facebook for fear that my beliefs might “offend” one of his homosexual friends. As such, there has been a line in the sand drawn in all of our relationships. They simply cannot tolerate my disagreement with them no matter how kind or sincere such disagreement may be delivered. They are unable to accept a differing opinion. For them, it’s not enough that you love them; you have to agree with them as well. Unfortunately, that means that there is a huge, painful wall in place of a loving relationship. There’s been a great deal of sacrifice in order to stand for what’s truly right.  I don’t hate these individuals, but I cannot expose myself to their horrific choices either. And I certainly cannot support their cause.  I would much rather have healthy relationships with these people in my life. But this is not to be in these, the last days. We simply cannot have a fairy tale ending when violations of God’s laws are present in our lives.

I feel awful for the parents who are so afraid of losing their children that they have even risen in defiance against the Church leaders.  They somehow feel that God’s laws should be more pliable in the face of the abundance of homosexual evil which has stricken our world. Yes I realize that these individuals who are making these awful choices are someone’s son or daughter. They aren’t just nameless faces. They are a part of their parent’s soul. But so are we to our Heavenly Father. He too will have to choose to separate Himself from us if we choose unrighteously.  I was so saddened to hear so many members of the Church express disgust and anger that the Church leaders would take a stand on this vitally important issue in our world today. Do they not realize that if these leaders did not take such a stand they would have the wrath of God to deal with instead?  The same goes for all of us. The Lord will not permit his people to be apathetic. Apathy is a clever word that the adversary has created. It’s just a deceptive way to describe evil actions. Nowhere in the scriptures does the Lord provide us with neutral territory.  These same persons who would make excuses for these lost souls do so without an understanding that God cannot cease to being just without ceasing to be God.  If only the parents could find that same balance in their own lives with their children in being just and loving. Instead, not only are they losing a child to the choices which the child has made, but they are losing their own firm footing in the Gospel as well because of how they are attempting to embrace evil—all in the name of compassion. Can they not still love their children without rebelling against the counsel and wisdom of the prophets? Instead of dipping their toe in the pool of apostasy, they would find more peace during such trials by increasing their temple attendance and righteous acts in an effort to engage the Lord in answering their fervent prayers on behalf of their lost children.

Righteousness, prayers, fasting, temple attendance is what makes a difference photo c/o mormonchurch.com

May we do more to shake off the chains of apathy and rebellion and proactively stand for what is right. Righteousness, prayers, fasting, temple attendance and feasting upon the word of God will do more to help these persons than will acts of rebellion and defiance—He’s promised us that such is the case. The miracle is that we can perform these acts of love for those who have made wrong choices without compromising our own standing before the Lord, and in fact strengthening our relationship with Him.

America–A Sacred Land

By Kellene Bishop

Many of the wars and rumors of wars exist in the world as the result of the Jews and Muslims fighting to protect the locations which are sacred to them. The Mount of Olives, the Dome of the Rock, the Tomb of David, the Tomb of Rachel, and so on and so forth; all of these have merited untiring protection and defense by those who believe they are sacred.

While the violence ensues and the wars erupt from a spirit of sentryism is not ideal, the valiance and willingness to fight for that which is sacred should be something that we as Latter-Day Saints pay heed to.

The Promised Land by Arnold Friberg

The Promised Land by Arnold Friberg

This nation is indeed The Promised Land, and it is favored above all other lands upon this earth by God himself. The words ‘promised’, ‘choice’, and ‘favored’ should not be taken lightly when used by the Lord. Surely He is not insincere or unknowledgeable in the use of such descriptive words. Yet in a moment of somber honesty with ourselves, many of us have to admit that we rarely give any thought to the sacredness of this land and its accompanying freedom. Yes, for some our hearts are momentarily stirred when we view great historical monuments of our American history such as the Liberty Bell, or a copy of the original Declaration of Independence. Perhaps our hearts flutter a bit when we witness the grandeur and beauty of the works of His hand at Niagara Falls or The Grand Canyon. But do we really appreciate the truly sacred nature of this land? If so, what are we doing to protect it? What would we be willing to do to protect the sanctity and holiness of our own temples and the freedom to operate them appropriately?

Why is it that scores of prophets have been shown the history of this land and its significance? No other portion of the earth has been endowed with greater significance in His Plan than has this continent. Permit me to remind us just how sacred and choice this land is to the Lord.

Human life began on this continent. As such our father Adam and our mother Eve dwelt here and raised their children here and their children’s children. Such events began in a beautiful place known as the Garden of Eden right here in North America¹. This also means that God and His Son literally communicated with Adam and Eve on this very land.

Methuselah lived nine-hundred and sixty-nine years here. His grandson Noah, built the Ark on this land. The City of Enoch was built and then taken up from this land.²

One of the most magnificent civilizations ever was established here by the hand of the Lord and was greater than any contemporary kingdoms. This kingdom would even rival that of the Babylonian, Assyrian, Chinese and Egyptian civilizations.³ The Jaredites existed on this land from 2300 to 600 B.C. until they destroyed themselves.

Every single Book of Mormon prophet that we have come to know and love resided on this very soil. Christ our Lord appeared to the inhabitants of this land. (See 3 Nephi)

The First Vision c/o lds.org

The First Vision c/o lds.org

God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared simultaneously in this land and conversed with a young man, Joseph Smith. (See The First Vision)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored on the earth in this very land. (See Doctrine and Covenants)

The Priesthood keys were fully restored to worthy men on this continent. This sacred restoration was performed by the literal hands of John the Baptist, Peter, James and John and the great prophet Elijah.4

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is guided and directed daily by a prophet of God from this land to all the earth.

It is here that the Lord’s New Jerusalem will be established.5 “Zion will indeed arise and shine” on this land. A great temple will be built in the New Jerusalem unlike any other and will be built not only with the hands of those who are called to assist, but with the aid of the Lord himself and angels from beyond the veil.6 (President Wilford Woodruff)

It is to this very continent that the lost Tribes of Israel will be gathered and assist in building up His Kingdom here on the earth during the Millennial Reign.

It is upon this ground which we live that the Lord himself will officially take over and administer the governing powers for all the earth. Here He will administer His Pre-Millennial plan in the last days.

Equally as important is the fact that this land was blessed with the greatest level of freedom of any other in the world by the hand of the Lord and through much sacrifice and bloodshed. It was required that His plans could be carried out unencumbered and in accordance to the Plan of Salvation. Such freedom stands as a beacon of light and hope to dozens of nations who have attempted to emulate it.

Wow. Take a moment to breathe that all in. And to think that this is not all that has transpired or that will in the future. I am convinced that if any one of these events were believed to have taken place in Palestine that all of the surrounding physical areas would likewise be fiercely protected. Don’t you?

Dallin H. Oaks at General Conference c/o ldschurchnews.com

Dallin H. Oaks at General Conference c/o ldschurchnews.com

With such great blessings comes significant responsibilities. What good are these events of the past, present, and future if we do nothing to protect their significance, our ability to honor them, and our freedom to benefit from them by worshipping freely? Do we not realize that our regular involvement in protecting a perfect and unadulterated freedom of our nation is inseparable with our religious beliefs? (See Elder Dallin H. Oaks talk in the October, 2009 General Conference) Yet evil and its ugly stepsister, apathy, abound in our nation, even in the membership of the Church. We make far too many decisions based on what we THINK is the “here and now.” I am no exception to the masses who fail to humbly and prayerfully consider how our actions will aid or mitigate the work of the Lord on this nation. I too have been guilty of naively categorizing my life into areas of spiritual or political when in fact there are no such delineation. In fact, our political decisions are no less spiritual than will be the governmental reign of the Lord. Have we ever read anything by any prophet which would tell us otherwise? Have we ever read any passage of scripture that would tell us that we need not be diligent in our political actions every whit as much as those of our worship? Indeed, we cannot separate the two. Freedom is inseparable from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus our passions and efforts to preserve freedom must be equally proliferated and prominent in our lives. Freedom was the crux of the war in heaven and it is still being fought on this land today.

Is it really any wonder that we seem to be losing so much of our freedom? The principle of Freedom is as much the soul of this country as the Spirit is to our justification to enter God’s presence.7 We are not ignorant of the devotion of our enemies as manifested in their daily prayers to the god which they worship. The powers of darkness clearly respond to such allegiance. What could we accomplish if we prayed as much for righteousness and freedom in this land as fervently as our enemies pray for evil?

May we better appreciate what we are protecting—our sacred lands, God’s plan of freedom, and a joyous future of our families—and may we act accordingly in our daily remembrance and devotions.

How the Swine Flu is Affecting the Saints in Argentina

Just FYI.  LDS church services all over Argentina have been cancelled for a month.  Missionaries are supposed to stay in as much as possible and not shake hands with anyone.  It’s being taken rather seriously there.  Just in one week alone, Argentina has lost BILLIONS of dollars.
Still wondering why we’re not doing anything here in the U.S.?  It’s all about the moola, folks.

Are We There Yet? Insight from David Kat

David Kat prepares many of the beautiful spiritual Youtube videos that many have enjoyed – He had some insight lately and gave permission for this to be shared. No. He’s not an apostle. He’s a lay member. However, he’s simply directing you to scriptures so that you can determine for yourself if what he believes is accurate. The following is in his own words.

WE ARE GETTING SO CLOSE!!

Last night, I was able to see more of the BIG picture. I just want to share a quick insight.

For the past couple of years, it has bothered me that in conference, the Brethren have been relatively silent in warning, giving counsel in preparing for the last days etc. I have prayed and yearned for Samuel the Lamanite-like talks, or President Benson’s or Bruce R. McConkie’s talks… yet instead we have been getting talks on Faith, on Hope.. on Charity/Service etc..

My thoughts have been… here the world is crumbling, disasters are eminent, people are not prepared and need to be. I was very frustrated and wondered WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING THE WARNINGS?

I was on the phone with my mother-in-law last night who just talked with a man that had a near-death-experience. He told her many things, but she felt impressed to tell me one thing in particular.

He said things are so very close to all of the “prophesied” things to begin happening. He talked about the “cycle” (reaffirmed in the Boyd K Packer’s talk in given in conference) and how just before things completely fall apart and collapse with utter destruction, the Lord’s anointed stop warning, and start speaking about faith, hope and charity. IT IS THE LAST STAGE IN THE CYCLE.

Then it hit me… The Book of Mormon is a template for this as well. Case in point.
We read in Ether… we get all the warnings about secret combinations etc and how the wickedness is abounding and that the people will be destroyed if they don’t repent.. then just before the entire civilization gets destroyed we get the 12th chapter on FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY..

Another example we find in Moroni chapter 8.. just before telling us that the people will perish and the prophecies will be fulfilled, Mormon teaches his son Moroni (and us), about Faith, Hope and Charity.

Okay… fast forward to the past two conferences.. what messages are we hearing…FAITH, HOPE, and CHARITY! WOW.. it hit me like a ton of bricks.. It was the answer that I needed to hear about why we aren’t receiving the voice of warning like I wanted.

Here is how I see the cycle now: AS A PEOPLE WE move from being Humble… to Obedient… to Blessed… to living Righteously… to Ease… to Laziness… to Prideful… to Selfishness… to Immorality… to having the prophets warning us to repent… to Wickedness… to Ripening to the Point of no return… to No more on Warnings, but teaching the humble followers to have Faith, Hope, and Charity –

THEN DESTRUCTION, CALAMITIES, etc- compelling us back to being HUMBLE…….

So, we probably won’t see the prophets speaking to us to warn us from the pulpit.. we arepast that time, we are in the final stage. This is the Lord’s way, just as He has done with the 2 prior civilizations (Jaredites, and the Nephites ..

It is my opinion, the more we hear about HOPE, don’t DESPAIR, etc .. THE CLOSER WE ARE!
I hope to speak to this man personally who had this near-death experience. He said some amazing things to my mother-in-law. In a nutshell, my mother-in-law now feels that she will be alive to see all of this unfold. Before she thought she wouldn’t be around.

WE ARE SO VERY CLOSE to things accelerating.

Just as a side note that just hit me, In one of my last videos, “Great Trials Lie Ahead”.. I started out with all of the warnings of McConkie, Benson, Eyring….and felt very strongly to end the video with the statements of HOPE by Uchtdorf…

This is a pattern, it is pattern seen in the Book of Mormon and we are following that same pattern today…

NEXT STEP for ALL OF US: The Destruction of the Wicked and the Saints being Humbled.

Call Me an Idealist—I’m Honored

lesser-of-two-evils1By Kellene Bishop

Face it. You’ve no doubt heard yourself uttering, or at least thinking the words “the lesser of two evils” when it came to voting for a particular candidate.  However, to put it simply, choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil.  As members of His church who have covenanted to build up this kingdom and to protect it, we simply cannot settle for such mainstream thinking.  We are not here in the last days to take it easy and bask in the abundance of technology and goods.  We are here to preserve, protect, and to prepare for His coming.  And yes, it is US that are here to do so, not our distant ancestors still to come, folks.  In 1980, Ezra Taft Benson gave a talk at BYU in which he stated, “you students are a part of a choice young generation—a generation which might well witness the return of the Lord.”  He went on to say, “It will be your responsibility not only to help to carry the kingdom to a triumph but to save your own soul and strive to save those of your family and to honor the principles of the inspired constitutions of the United Stated.”

So, are we responsible for choosing only that which is good for our country and our religion, or shall our hands be clean if we simply vote for the “lesser of two evils?”

In Alma 46, Captain Moroni shows us just how important it is that not only do we refuse to accept any degree of evil among us, but that we must also ensure it doesn’t live to infiltrate our lives in the future generations either.  (See verses 29-35)

Still others, who are strongly rooted among us, would have us believe that a belief that “Right will reign if we but stand firmly for it” is idealistic, and as such is doomed for failure—especially in light of our prominent two party voting system. I’m certain that such a view point is perpetuated by the adversary.  I’m convinced that the Lord’s way is not to advocate “that which isn’t most wicked” but rather to always stand for that which is truly right, that which will truly protect freedoms, and preserve our religion.

The nay sayers can call this being an idealist all they want, telling the world how an idealist never gets anywhere so they can/should simply moderate towards the centrist view.  I firmly do not believe this.  The attitude that “we simply can’t afford to be idealistic” and that we need to moderate in order to get back to the Constitution is what got us here to begin with.  Surely we have seen that those who hold the views which threaten our religion and our freedoms never moderate, ever.  Have you not noticed that?  They don’t.  And they never sleep.  The holders of these views even admit that they have extreme agendas.  But then they watch as the typical Conservative movement gets all bent out of shape, then “they” back off from their original extreme agenda and accept a few baby-steps towards their original agenda.  And so on it goes.  Lather, rinse, repeat, until the adversary ends up with what he wanted all along.  Perhaps it’s hard to stand boldly and courageously in the face of truly evil principles, because such principles are held by living, breathing human beings who we instinctively love and strive to nurture, not destroy.  But stand we must, regardless of the face which breathes out these false principles.

Perhaps the tragedy in all of this is not that many have tried to make a difference and feel that they have failed in doing so, but more importantly, the disaster is that we who hold the truths actually give up in fighting against evil.  We try so hard to resist evil that we forget that the strength is in persisting evil.  Understandably our nemesis does not sleep, nor get distracted with families, television, church callings, or other intrusions on his efforts to thwart the Lords plan.  But far too many Believers have given up.  Where would we be today if people had held strong to their ideals and principles 70 years ago?  50 years ago?  Even 20 years ago?  I believe we would be in the midst of a far different nation, and even world.

It is because we have decided to abandon our principles for so long that we find ourselves in our current situation, not because we held to them too tightly before finding it didn’t work exactly as we had planned.  It is far too common that the Holders of Eternal Truths simply live their lives, hoping (or even assuming) that someone else will take the heat and tow the line, while the adversary works tirelessly for his cause, knowing that it is all dependent upon him to do so.  It is because Believers have not stood by their principles that we are left wondering what principles are anymore, let alone which ones we should try to hold onto and which ones we should save to fight for another day.

If we are not willing to stand on our principles, how can we expect anyone else to? If we are willing to stand on our principles, why not NOW so that we can begin to affect change?  The Savior will not do it for us.  We are to make these changes for Him.

Do you simply believe that you are not leadership material?  That somehow true leadership is somebody else’s responsibility?  What is it about standing for something right now that scares us so badly?  Do we think we will lose an election by doing so?

Advocating a slower moving train towards Socialism/Communism is still advocating for such a repugnant government.  We cannot fool ourselves into believing that someone who will give away ANY of our Constitutional freedoms may not be as bad as someone who confesses that they would give them all away.  Raping and pillaging is a violation of another, regardless of the speed at which it comes.  Worse, if we don’t see the freedoms that we’ve lost up to this time, then we are truly blind to what has been going on in this nation for far too long.

Yes, holding to our principles and voting for better leadership than we have now will split the Conservative ticket and allow a puppet of the adversary to be elected, but it will also show other Believers that they, too, can hold strong to their principles and cast a better vote.  The fight must begin with us, though the minority.  We cannot wait until we are in the majority, because it will never happen, according to prophesy.  In addition, as that movement grows, it will show the current leadership that there are those of us out here that stand for something and that we will no longer remain silent.  It is when we refuse to lead out, be first, and stand strong that both dominant parties know they can move where they want to because there is no one that will hold them accountable.  You’ve heard of gun-free zones, right?  You’re aware that the last five “mass shootings” all took place in a noted “gun free zone,” right?  Well, “the powers that be” prey upon “truth free zones.”  That is where we find ourselves today.  If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that continuing to cast a vote for the lesser of two evils hasn’t worked out real well for us thus far, and that this simple, but stubborn fact isn’t likely to change in the future either.

How well did abandoning our principles and moderating the Republican Party work for us in the last election?  How well did abandoning our principles stop WRONG from being elected last election, and how well were we able to stop the last Presidency from destroying liberties faster than we were able to stop them?  Americans are justifiably fatigued with voting for the lesser of two evils and getting government leaders like we’ve had and have.  They’re waiting for someone else to take a stand, someone to rally around.  Why can’t that be you?  Frankly, it should be all of us.

I promise from this day forward that I will never vote for the lesser of two evils again.  If that puts me squarely in the camp of “useless idealist” then so be it, but I am responsible for my votes and actions to a Heavenly Father that expects more of me than that.  Again, I implore you to read H. Verlan Anderson’s “Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen” (http://www.redhotlogo.com/2-Many%20Called.pdf) before entertaining a thought process which attempts to address the lesser of two evils.  It’s not an A or B vote, folks.  It should always be the Lord’s vote.

While some may claim it to be idealistic, it is also according to the Lord’s commandments that we seek good and honorable men for our leaders.  If choices are not available before us, then we must step up to provide such a choice, just as Joseph Smith did.  The ONLY reason why he ran for President of the United States was to preserve our religious and Constitutional rights.  (See Teachings of Joseph Smith pages 331-334)  He even goes so far as to say, “if I lose my life in a good cause I am willing to be sacrificed on the altar of virtue, righteousness and truth in maintaining the laws and Constitution of the United States, if need be, for the general good of mankind.”

The problem of giving up our “idealistic” cause in response to the dominance of the current two-party system is akin to thinking, “Well, kids are going to have sex anyway, so let’s at least provide them a condom and teach them how to have sex safely.”  Clearly that doesn’t work for us and violates what we know to be right.  It is this mentality that causes our actions, even when shooting for best, to do nothing more than hand the victory to the other side.  Some have even gone so far as to rationalize “let’s get closer to the other side so that we can get votes from both sides.”  This certainly is a faulty strategy.  Even as an accomplished and skilled warrior as well as a righteous man that Teancum was, he was victorious over his enemies until he shunned the protection of the Lord by going “forth in his anger.”

Either we stand on principle, or we admit that our principles can be bought.  Which is it for you?  “Let’s elect someone that takes us down the road of Socialism slower, yeah, that will be better for us, but, hey, at least we won the election.”  Nope.  We will never win with such thinking.  The adversary will always win in this case by convincing us that voting for the lesser of two evils was much better than voting our true conscience, which is what the Lord asks and requires of us as citizens entrusted with a great nation and great, though lessening, liberties.

Prayerfully read the scripture for guidance on these matters.  Then read the published political platform of which you support.  Ask yourself if this platform truly ensures freedom for all men, and the liberties as the Lord had intended.  Unfortunately, I assure you that neither of the predominant platforms will reflect His Gospel.  So you need to ask yourself, “if not this, then what?”  I pray that you will find guidance and sure direction in exploring this question.

May we also covenant as did Moroni: “Behold, whosever will maintain this title upon the land, let them come forth in the strength of the Lord, and enter into a covenant that they will maintain their rights, and their religion, that the Lord God may bless them.” (Alma 46:20)

In parting, let me say this: In the war in heaven there was a group of Communists (roughly a third) that wanted to be forced back into the presence of Heavenly Father.  There were a group of Constitutionalists (roughly a third) that were willing to accept complete liberty and freedom to take on the responsibility for their own actions and then rely on the Lord to make up the difference.  And then there was a group of fence sitting, middle of the road, let’s-play-nice-with-everyone-so-we-don’t-tick-anyone-off-so-everyone-will-like-everyone, just-a-little-bit-of-both-sides-is-good-for-me, I-just-want-to-be-on-the-winning-team-regardless-of-who-it-is “voters” (roughly a third) that were willing to give up a little liberty to get a little security.  Which one are you?

The Lord claimed the Constitution as a work provided by inspiration at his hand through men he raised up for this very purpose (compare its ideals to those given by Christ in the war in heaven).  In response, Satan came up with the Communist Manifesto (compare its ideals to those given by Satan in the war in heaven), but he doesn’t care if we accept it wholeheartedly right now as long as we’re moving towards it, however slowly that may be.  Any move away from the Lord’s plan towards Satan’s plan is unacceptable.

As for me, I’ll take the Constitution coupled with the Gospel.

What type of tyranny would you like served today?  And would you like fries with that?
